Another attraction is La Barceloneta Boulevard, very pleasant for taking a walk and delighting in the great variety of bars and restaurants where one can taste some delicious paella whilst enjoying the sea views. There is also a bicycle hire service, to take in the beauty of the boulevard or get lost in the quarter's narrow streets.
Built to cater for the accommodation needs of the sportspeople taking part in the Barcelona 92 Olympics, the Olympic Village is set out on an area close to the sea and is made up of modern buildings and shopping centres; however, the interior of La Barceloneta has kept its traditional ambience of a fishing quarter with traditional establishments.
